Who: Deidara, anyone else
Status: Complete
Style: Action
Where/When: Pretty much everywhere, taking up a fair chunk of the day
[Deidara is flying, for the most part trying to avoid detection as much as a giant white clay bird flying low in the sky can. He's looking for Tobi, who has angered him and, therefore, deserves to die a painful, explosive death.
...Feel free to say hi!]

Especially when the Akatsuki cloak is nowhere in sight.
He all too slowly clamps down on his chakra, putting out any flicker of flame. No reason for panic, after all. It's only Deidara.]

So, when he comes swooping over the onsen, he's not expecting someone entirely different. His bird banks, reflecting its master's confusion, and he peers down at this new man, whose chakra has already been hidden. Deidara's sure he was the source of the signature, though.]

You're blocking the sun.
[ His voice is nothing like the high-pitched whine that is Tobi's. It's low and smooth and sultry. Smoke and oil and spice. ]

Too bad, un. You seen an idiot in an orange mask?
[He's not sure why he doesn't just leave.]

[ The words are delivered with a certain authority, and no hesitance. Water runs down his arm, drips slowly, as he continues to shield his eyes from the halo of sunlight surrounding Deidara. ]
...and now, you.

[ Madara's mouth curls into a smirk. ]
Who are you?
[ His eyes seem to narrow in on the boy's hitai-ate ]
Missing-nin, hmm?
June 17 2009, 15:07:36 UTC 2 years ago
Yeah. So? I'm not blowing up your village, un.
[Yet. It's always "yet" with Deidara.]

[ As if to punctuate the statement, Madara gives a content sigh, lashes drooping down to half-mast. His fingers skim down over his cheek and jaw back down to the water, before sliding up against the rock as he leans back more against it, steam rising all around him from the water. It almost looks like he's barely paying Deidara any attention, but he's watching him through his lashes. Curious to see what he would do. How he would act. He's so different, this boy, when he's not angry and trying to prove himself to the world and make it see him the way he sees himself. ]

[It's strange, to be standing around making conversation with the Mizukage. But this whole situation is strange, and so Deidara's willing to adapt a bit. But mostly he's biding his time, trying to figure out the rules of the world so he can break them as he pleases. He's watching the Mizukage, half ninja paranoia, half curiosity.]

It's dangerous to make assumptions...

[ It's an amused breath. He raises an eyebrow, gaze lazy and unaffected, then lets his eyes close as his head falls back against the rocks. Deidara, Deidara, Deidara. Always so presumptuous. It'll get him killed one day. ]

[Normally he's gotten in a fight by now, when it comes to running into a villager from any of the hidden villages. Especially a kage. Deidara tilts his head, like a cat getting a better look at something that interests it.]
June 18 2009, 00:58:20 UTC 2 years ago
[ The question is asked without the respect of a proper look. Madara's eyes are closed, but he can imagine the look on Deidara's face. ]
June 18 2009, 00:59:22 UTC 2 years ago
[Deidara doesn't like being ignored. He moves closer.]

[ It's a low murmur, and Madara glances up at Deidara when his proximity is close enough -- but only for a moment. His attention drops down to the porcelain flask of umeshuu that is chilling in cold water in a wooden bucket he has in arm's reach and plucks it out, pouring into a small cup. ]
And how did you manage that?
[ And Madara knows that it was with quite a bang. But he's curious to hear how Deidara will tell the story. He raises the ochoko to his lips and slowly drinks. The coolness is a lovely contrast to the heat, he thinks. ]

Art.
[The bird explodes, spectacularly.]

It must have been beautiful.
[ He knows too well how much Deidara loves the ephemeral nature of explosions. The spark and the heat and the blast. Smoke in the air. The sheer passionate violence of it. He knows even more how much Deidara loves himself, and loves to be praised, loves to be coddled and given attention he believes he deserves. ]

There's nothing better, un. Just for a second there's everything at once, and then nothing. Forever.
[Art is a bang. His grin widens.]
June 18 2009, 01:28:01 UTC 2 years ago
[ The words are like velvet, a trap laid. The wine is sweet and crisp. ]
June 18 2009, 01:31:31 UTC 2 years ago
Tch, they never understood. Art's what matters, and if you get in the way of my art, then you're worthless. Hardly worth canvas material if you don't understand it, un. But I make them understand, in the end.

[ The noose has been thrown, and now Madara slowly starts to draw it in tight. He refills the cup, but this time offers it up to Deidara in outstretched fingers, dripping with water. ]
